What Goes Into Your Replacement Quote

There is no honest way to price an AC replacement without seeing the house. Two homes on the same street can need very different equipment depending on square footage, insulation, window area, ductwork condition, and which way the living space faces.

So we do it properly. We come out, look at the system and the space, check your ductwork and electrical, and give you a written price before any work starts. If the job calls for a full load calculation, we'll tell you on site and take care of it. That price covers the equipment, the labor, the permit, the haul-away of your old unit, and the startup and commissioning that makes a warranty valid. It is the number you should be comparing between contractors, not an equipment-only price with the real costs added back later.

If a quote comes in dramatically under everyone else's, ask what has been left out. Usually it is the permit, the new line set, or the electrical disconnect.

What Moves the Price

System size. Measured in tons, and it should be based on your actual home (square footage, insulation, window area, and orientation), not a guess from the size of your old unit. An oversized system short-cycles, cools unevenly, and fails early. Where a job needs a full load calculation to get the sizing right, we'll flag it on site and run one.

Efficiency rating (SEER2). A baseline-efficiency system costs less up front. A high-efficiency system costs more and returns it through summer power bills, which in Las Vegas is a faster payback than almost anywhere in the country. For this climate we usually land homeowners at SEER2 15 to 18. Higher-efficiency equipment saves more, but the payback window stretches out.

Ductwork condition. Leaky or undersized ducts waste the capacity you just paid for. If yours need sealing or replacement, that is a real line item, and skipping it is how a new system underperforms from day one.

Electrical and line set. Older homes sometimes need a new disconnect, a new breaker, or a new refrigerant line set to run a modern system safely.

Straight AC or full system. Replacing the furnace or air handler at the same time costs more up front but far less than doing the two jobs separately a few years apart.

Rebates, Financing, and When Replacing Beats Repairing

We also offer financing so a replacement doesn't have to arrive as one large bill. Most homeowners qualify for monthly terms that land well under the cost of running a failing system through a Las Vegas summer.

The honest rule of thumb: if your system is under ten years old and the repair is a few hundred dollars, repair it. If it is past twelve years, uses R-22 refrigerant, or the repair quote is climbing past a third of replacement cost, you are spending good money on borrowed time.
